BF6 Players Agree: Missions Are Excessively Difficult

The launch of the eagerly awaited Battlefield 6 was met with broad praise, especially for its flagship multiplayer mode. Just on Steam, live player figures surged to nearly 750,000. Nevertheless, in spite of its success, many players are protesting against several of the title's most difficult challenges, which are mandatory to access certain guns.

Users have commenced resorting to personalized games set up using the custom game tool to achieve these objectives, emphasizing just how grueling these missions have become.

Comprehending BF6 Assignments

Tasks represent Battlefield 6's permanent multiplayer tasks, in contrast to the frequently updated everyday and weekly missions. The game includes four classes of assignments, but although many only reward outfits and select equipment, finishing the gun missions is the exclusive means of acquiring twelve from the forty-one primary weapons found within the game.

Some of these restricted firearms may soon make their appearance on rosters of the top weapons in Battlefield 6.

Gamer Backlash via Reddit

Over on Reddit, players are reasonably sharing their frustrations about how challenging and repetitive some of these challenges are. A particular gamer highlighted one of the most outrageous examples, mandatory for acquiring the KTS100 MK8 LMG:

  • Subdue 300 opponents with LMGs
  • Deal 10,000 close-range damage with LMGs

"This mission is so terrible and totally unreasonable, I want to tear my hair out," is a quote that summarizes just how excessively challenging these tasks are.

The suppression feature in the game is less effective than in previous titles in the series, so it lacks nearly as many positive effects in fights as it did in previous games. It only tallies as suppression if you fire a burst without hitting the target.

Additionally, using an LMG from the hip is extremely unreliable and functions solely at extremely close range, which isn't typically where you prefer to be. The commenter also noted the contradiction in the SMG challenge, needed to obtain the SCW-10, which requires kills while aiming down the sights, when that mission would be much better suited to hipfire kills, and vice versa.

Another Overly Demanding Mission

One more community participant highlighted another ridiculously tough challenge, within the marksman rifle class to unlock the PSR:

  • Get 150 headshot kills from more than 200 meters away with sniper rifles

This is challenging enough on its own, but there's one more key thing to consider: many Battlefield 6 maps don't even support combat at that kind of range.

There exists a reasonable assortment of map sizes, but given there are merely nine battlegrounds in the game at present, it means you're limited to playing one of the larger locales, another expansive area, and maybe Operation Firestorm in a best-case scenario if you want to snipe from beyond 200 meters.

The Workaround

Nevertheless, a method exists: Battlefield Portal. This portal feature is a tool that allows you to create personalized matches on any map you prefer, featuring computer-controlled players. This means you can bypass the intended method… but it isn't truly in line with the developer's vision.

Yet, if completing the missions in a standard match feels like anti-playing, since you are forced to participate in such an unorthodox manner that offers no advantage to anyone, is it surprising for finishing these in a custom game so allies are not impaired?

Future Adjustments

It should not be shocking if several of these tasks are toned down in the near future, because should they remain unchanged, a portion of the user base simply are unlikely to obtain the locked firearms.

At the moment, the player base continues to express their views on these challenging battlefield assignments, anticipating a fairer gaming experience in subsequent patches.
